PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Fifty years professional experience in agriculture in the fields of crop research, teaching and training, production, extension and development in the U.S.A., Pakistan, Zambia, Sudan and Mexico, includes the following descriptions briefly.
1978 TO DATE
1978 – 1988: Juba Period – 10 Years

Broad practical experience of production of cereals, food legumes, root crops and vegetables. Initiated and developed (pioneered) agro-breeding research and production of wheat at Imatong mountains (Nagichot and Gilo) of Southern Sudan. Planned, conducted, coordinated and supervised agronomic applied research projects. Worked as consultant / Agronomist in Sudan, Southern Region Agricultural Development Project (SRAD I) funded by U.S.A.I.D. Coordinated with the regional Ministry of Agriculture and the Project Development Unit (PDU), funded by the World Bank in Agriculture Development and research projects. Project leader of the project "Univeristy / Ministry Cooperation on Vegetable Production" of SRAD I, USAID. Organized Juba Town, Home and school gardening and beautification with the cooperation of Regional Ministry of Agricultural and Juba City Council. Advised vegetable and fruit production on Lilogo Military Farm on small farms around Juba. Formulated and developed crop science curriculum; taught plant breeding; crop production; experimental techniques to undergraduates and General Agriculture to School Teachers. Established Dept. of Crop Science and contributed in the development of the College and the University. Managed University Field Station and campus beautification. Worked in cooperation with people of different nationalities.

Developed crop science curriculum. Teaching and training undergraduate and post graduate students. Guide and supervise students research and field projects. Supervise Ph.D. and M.Sc. students. Chairman of the Publication Committee and chief editor of the University calendar 2006 – 2008, 2003 – 2005 and 2000 – 2002.
Authored a text book entitled "Experimental Methods in Agriculture", ISBN 99942-809-4-5

Organized and supervised students' research and farm training on multipurpose commercial and peasant farms.
Initiated and conducted wheat research program; isolated and developed wheat varieties for Zambian farmers; involved and advised Zambian farmers Bureau in increased and sustained crop productivity. Designed and developed plant science curriculum. Taught crop production, breeding and Experimental Methods. Worked in harmony with persons having different backgrounds.

Agronomic and improvement research on wheat; conducted yield, cultural, disease and pest resistance experiments and post harvest operations. Practical experience of production of cereals, food legumes, fruits and vegetables. Conducted reclamation and development work on problem soils. Agronomic research on rain fed and irrigated crops. Studied farming systems, cropping schemes and cropping patterns on small, multipurpose and commercial farms. Worked on water requirements of crops, reclamation schemes, soil and water testing, extension and rural development. Managed a research – Production – Demonstration Farm. Working experience of local and intermediate technology; ox-ploughing, cane crushing, etc. Attended to small farmers' production problems.
Assisted USAID farming advisor as his counterpart in extension work and in planning the famous Salinity Control & Reclamation Project (SCARP 1) in Punjab, Pakistan.
Prepared a booklet, "Crop and Irrigation Guide" Pak-Punjab Area published by USAID.
RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS
Fifty years agronomic research under various projects on improvement and agronomic aspects of various cereals and food legumes under different environmental conditions in various developing countries published in several reports, research bulletins and scientific journals. "Change Detection in Land Use/ Cover" of Um Kaddada Province of North Darfur by means of multi-date comparison of satellite data.

Supervise Undergraduate Research for Honors Degree on large number of agronomic research projects on Sorghum, Wheat, Ground Nuts, Sunflower, Food Legumes and Vegetable Crops.
Conducted research on Sorghum and Groundnuts, local and exotic material in cooperation with Project Development Unit (PDU), based with Ministry of Agriculture funded by World Bank
