الأبقار النيلية  :الأبقار النيلية صغيرة الحجم  وطويلة الأرجل وذات ظهر ضيق  طويل الحافة. وتسود الألوان البيضاء واللون  واللون الابيض المشوب بالون الاصفر الباهت في غطاء الجسم . و السنام صغير بين نهاية الفقرات العنقية وبداية الفقرات الصدرية. والجلد المتدلي من أسفل العنق  (اللبب) صغير الحجم. و تختلف  أبقار شمال السودان في أحجامها تبعا للأحوال البيئية ولكنها اكبر حجما من الأبقار النيلية .

Nilotic cattle are small-sized animals with long legs, long edged narrow back. The dominant coat colors are white  and creamy white. The hump is small and lies behind the the end of the cervical vertebrae  and the beginning of the dorsal vertebrae .The dew lap is small .Although north Sudan zebu cattle are variable in size  they are however larger than the Nilotic cattle.
